We are a Bournemouth based recycling organisation aiming to make the South Coast a cleaner and greener environment. The UK at present produces 420 tonnes of solid waste every year that we could recycle. Much of this ends up in landfills where un-biodegradable plastics can take up to 1000 years to degrade and batteries can rot in landfill sites and start to leak chemicals and heavy metals into the earth causing soil and water pollution. This can extremely harmful to animals humans and the environment generally.

At present the UK only recycles about 15% of its waste which is a much smaller number than many other European countries. Recycling waste is not only greener and better for the environment but also creates jobs as 10,000 tonnes of recycled rubbish can create 36 jobs. When recycling lead acid batteries the recycling process only uses 30-40% of the energy taken to produce lead from ore and also conserves natural mineral sources so the benefits of recycling are enormous.
